Weekends are a golden opportunity to recharge and align with the life you envision. Without a plan, you might find yourself in a 48-hour Netflix marathon.
🎥 While intentional downtime is great, unplanned binges can lead to feelings of anxiety and dread for the upcoming week. Let's combat that with some brain-friendly strategies:
☕ Connect Socially: Call a friend for coffee or a casual game of pickleball. 🏓 Even if it's just hitting the ball back and forth, it's a great way to explore the pickleball hype together. Remember, we're social beings! #SocialConnection #PickleballFun
🏠 Tackle a Home Task: Choose one thing you've been meaning to do and add it to your to-do list. This week, I'm tackling a closet in my basement. Accomplishment boosts our brain's reward system! #Accomplishment #BrainBoost
😴 Prioritize Rest: Our brains need downtime to function optimally. Make sure to schedule some rest. #RestAndRecharge #BrainHealth
🧠 Learn Something New: Keep your neuroplasticity active by figuring out something new. I'm currently at the kindergarten level of designing on Canva! 🎨 #LifelongLearning #Neuroplasticity
📚 Read a Book: Put down the phone and pick up a book. The blue light from screens can strain our eyes. #ReadMore #DigitalDetox
🎓 Take a Class: Find a class that interests you, unrelated to work. Learning new things keeps our brains engaged and healthy. #ContinuousLearning #BrainEngagement
👨👩👧👦 Carve Out 'You' Time: If you have kids, find a little time for yourself. Socialize at practice, walk at the field, or simply enjoy watching your kids do their thing. Family and social connections are at the core of our being. #FamilyTime #SocialBrain
Funny story about these photos- I do love to read in this "egg chair", so my daughter and I did a little photo shoot....that was actually fun. The funny part is, at my age, you know I can't see without glasses, and those are on my head, not my eyes...totally staged photo!
